Founder And Chairman Emeritus, Max Group

Mr. Analjit Singh is the Founder and Chairman Emeritus of Max Group, a $2.5 billion multi-business enterprise with interests in life insurance (Max Life), health care (Max Healthcare), health insurance (Max Bupa) and senior living (Antara). Max Group is renowned for service excellence and has successful joint ventures with some of the pre-eminent firms of the world, including Mitsui Sumitomo of Japan, Life Healthcare of South Africa and Bupa Plc of the United Kingdom. Earlier partners include New York Life Insurance Company, Hutchison Whampoa, Motorola and Lockheed Martin. Amongst his private businesses, Mr. Analjit Singh has significant interests in real estate in India and lifestyle related ventures in the Western Cape, South Africa, pertaining to viticulture, wine making and hospitality. The activities are centred around the Franschhoek Valley and Riebeek-Kasteel in the Swartland region of the Western Cape, South Africa. A self-made entrepreneur, Mr. Analjit Singh was awarded the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian honour, by the President of India in 2011. An alumnus of The Doon School and Shri Ram College of Commerce, University of Delhi, Mr. Analjit Singh holds an MBA from Graduate School of Management, Boston University. He has been conferred with an honorary doctorate by Amity University. Professionally, he is the non-executive Chairman of Vodafone India and a Director on the boards of Tata Global Beverages and Sofina NV/SA, Belgium.

Till recently, he served as Chairman of the Doon School. Mr. Analjit Singh is a member of the Founder Executive Board of Indian School of Business (ISB), India’s top ranked B-School, and has served as Chairman of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee - India’s oldest and most prestigious engineering college. He has instituted a scholarship fund for meritorious management students from India at his alma mater - Graduate School of Management, Boston University. The scholarship runs under the rubric MAS (Max Analjit Singh Scholarship). Mr. Analjit Singh is a member of the Prime Minister’s Indo UK CEO council. In the past, he has served on the Prime Minister’s Indo US CEO council. Mr. Analjit Singh has also served as the co-chair of Prabodhan, a unique forum for facilitating closer and more effective engagement between European and Indian decision makers and opinion leaders, with Mr. Ratan Tata-Chairman Emeritus of Tata Group and Vittorio Colao-Group Chief Executive of Vodafone as co-patrons. He has been felicitated by Senator Hillary Clinton, former US Secretary of State, on behalf of Indian American Centre for Political Awareness for his outstanding achievement in presenting the international community with an understanding of a modern and vibrant India, creating several successful joint ventures with leading American companies and promoting business ties with the USA. He has been honoured with the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (Service Category) and the Golden Peacock Award for Leadership and Service Excellence. In 2014 he was awarded Spain’s second highest civilian honour, the Knight Commander of the Order of Queen Isabella, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Boston University. He also serves as the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of San Marino in India.

Mr Sahil Vachani

Managing Director, (Max Ventures And Industries Limited)

Mr. Sahil Vachani is Managing Director of MVIL. He has diverse experience across various sectors including consumer durables and real estate. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in management sciences from the University of Warwick, U.K., which he completed in 2003. He started his career as an investment banker with Citigroup in London where he worked on mergers and acquisitions across the Middle East and Africa region. In the year 2004, he joined Dixon Technologies, a consumer appliance manufacturing firm, as Business Head and set up new verticals across multiple locations. He was involved in the launch of new products, setting up of new manufacturing facilities and establishing relationships with leading brands as customers. In the year 2006, Mr. Vachani ventured into new entrepreneurial opportunities – setting up a trading and IT business in Pakistan and also an online educational startup. His next career progression was in the year 2008 as Co-Founder and Managing Director of Dixon Appliances Pvt. Ltd – a complete solutions provider for home appliances to the largest brands in India.

In this role, he was responsible for creating the business from inception including designing of products, building the team, setting up the manufacturing facility, running the operations and building relationships with leading brands in India such as Panasonic, Godrej, LG, amongst others. The company emerged as the single largest third party contract manufacturer of washing machines for the Indian market. In July 2015, Mr. Vachani sold his shareholding in the company to pursue new opportunities. An avid reader, Mr. Vachani also enjoys playing squash and running.

Mr. Arjunjit Singh

Chief Operating Officer, Max Estates Limited

Mr. Arjunjit Singh is the Chief Operating Officer of Max Estates, the real estate subsidiary of MVIL. Arjunjit holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Economics and Management, with concentrations in Finance and Entrepreneurship, from Cornell University where he graduated magna cum laude. While at Cornell University, Arjunjit was elected to the Beta Gamma Sigma Honour Society. Prior to serving as COO of Max Estates, Arjunjit spent the majority of his career in Private Equity and Investment Banking with industry giants Fidelity Private Equity and UBS Investment Bank, in both India and New York. Arjunjit has built significant expertise across diverse industries such as Real Estate, Telecommunications, Technology, Healthcare, Education and Media. During his career, Arjunjit has held senior client responsibility positions for a number of major corporations such as AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, Vodafone, NBC Universal, and Reliance Communications, amongst others.
